Volunteer Work and Community Engagement

Since 2010, I've dedicated my time to volunteering, aiding underprivileged families. As an MWBE-certified organization, NY Advocates 4 Kids stands as a leading force in championing the rights of children across New York, particularly those from minority and underserved communities. NY Advocates 4 Kids is dedicated to ensuring that every child has equitable access to education, regardless of race, religion, or background. Our commitment is evident not only in the organization’s advocacy work but also in dedication to providing essential guidance to families who may need additional support, reflecting our mission to make impactful assistance accessible to all.

NY Advocates 4 Kids efforts have earned us significant recognition, including features in City & State NY’s “Above & Beyond in Social Services”, Amsterdam News’ coverage of NYC’s federally funded magnet high schools, and Milestone Magazine’s Spring 2022 issue. Through NY Advocates 4 Kids, our extensive team actively petition, initiate community action, and stay current on education laws to uphold the rights of every student, tirelessly working to ensure equal opportunities for all children.

About Me

NY Advocates 4 Kids was founded inspired by my own experiences within the NYC Department of Education system. After witnessing my son’s struggles 15 years ago and ultimately choosing to homeschool him through high school, I was empowered for him to succeed, in which he’s presently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Computer Science. This journey ignited my passion for advocacy and fueled my commitment to helping other families navigate similar challenges.

As a proud South Asian woman with deep multicultural roots, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My father’s Spanish and Afro Caribbean  heritage and my mother’s Indian ancestry, shaped by her upbringing as the daughter of Guyanese parents, have instilled in me a profound appreciation for diversity and resilience. These values are at the heart of my business,

NY Advocates 4 Kids, which is proudly certified as a Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE). This certification underscores my commitment to supporting families from all walks of life, with a particular focus on empowering underrepresented communities and fostering meaningful connections with the families I serve.

With a Paralegal Certificate, a global certification in Advocacy, certification in Autism and a certification in the Neurology of Decision-Making, I bring a well-rounded expertise in the work I provide. My unique background allows me to understand the intricacies of behavioral and educational needs, enabling me to guide families with empathy and informed decision-making. My volunteer work including working within the New York State court system, coupled with my extensive recognitions—including the Leadership in Social Service award from NYC & NYS and SB100 for my services underscore my dedication to supporting children with special needs and their families. Through NY Advocates 4 Kids, I am empowered for every family to access the support and resources necessary for their children’s success.

When you collaborate with NY Advocates 4 Kids, you're aligning with a team that boasts a range of expertise and a fervent dedication to tailored education. From deliberations to bespoke educational approaches, we've got your back."
